Getting your first Google AdSense payment is a milestone every blogger dreams of. After months of writing, optimizing, and waiting for approval, seeing that payment hit your account proves your blog can generate real income. In this guide, I’ll share how I got my first AdSense payout in Ghana, the requirements you need to meet, and tips to grow your blogging revenue faster.
Step 1: Meet the Payment Threshold
Google AdSense requires you to reach a $100 minimum threshold before releasing payments. This means your blog must generate enough ad clicks and impressions to accumulate at least $100 in your AdSense balance.
Step 2: Verify Your Address with PIN
Once your earnings reach $10, Google mails a verification PIN to your physical address. You must enter this PIN in your AdSense account to confirm your location before payments can be processed.
Step 3: Add a Payment Method
In Ghana, the most common payment options are:
Bank Transfer (Wire Transfer) → Direct deposit into your local bank account.
Western Union Quick Cash → Available in some regions.
SWIFT Transfer → For international banks.
I personally used bank transfer, which was reliable and fast.
Step 4: Wait for Payment Cycle
Google pays publishers between the 21st–26th of each month. Once your balance crosses $100 and your account is verified, your payment is automatically processed.
Step 5: Receive Your First Payment
After 3 months of consistent blogging, I finally hit the threshold and received my first AdSense payment in Ghana. It was proof that blogging can be monetized successfully with patience and strategy.
