How to Change Image Background in Canva Free Plan: Step-by-Step Guide

Many users think you need Canva Pro to change image backgrounds, but even with the Canva Free plan, you can still set or replace backgrounds creatively. In this guide, I’ll show you how to change image background in Canva free, upload your own images, and set them as backgrounds without upgrading.

Step 1: Download a Background Image

Since the free plan doesn’t allow direct background removal, start by downloading a background image from Google or any free stock photo site (like Unsplash or Pexels). Save it to your computer.

Now find uploads on the left panel.

Click on uploads

Left click and hold to drag image to the top edge of the blank workspace

Alternatively, you can drag the image to any part of the blank workspace and right click, scroll down and you will see set image as background.

You should have these results, thanks for following.
